CSKA's Mark Gonzalez out of qualifiers
CSKA Moskva winger Mark González has pulled out of Chile’s World Cup Qualifiers against Venezuela and Brazil. Gonzalez was injured this weekend in CSKA’s 1-0 loss Sunday at FK Rostov, having to be removed 25 minutes into the match.
Chile is second in CONMEBOL qualifying behind Brazil, who then play in Salvador on September 9. Four days earlier, Chile is set to host Venezuela in Santiago. Gonzalez, who has 46 career caps and six international goals, has been a regular in his national team’s starting XI.
Flamengo’s (Brazil) Gonzalo Fierro has been recalled by Marcelo Bielsa to replace González.
